Things happen.

There is almost a reasonable point here re: passing laws as knee jerk reactions to tragedies. But laws don't simply materialize at a snap of a finger, or become laws without a substantial amount of time, consideration and legislature votes*.




*not to be confused with tragedies caused by a foreign power, in which case there's often a quick and decisive air strike. But- look, things happen, there's always a crisis and the impulse is always to do something and it's not always the right thing to do.
